The Wave is a sandstone formation in the US, near the frontier that separates Arizona and Utah, north of the area known as Coyote Buttes. |

Its formation began during the Jurassic age, 190 million years ago, just when the sands of the dunes were calcified into horizontal and vertical layers, which were then further eroded by wind and rain.
